Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Gel by Neutrogena: A Review

Recently, Neutrogena came out with a new product in their skincare line called “Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight amp; Fade Gel”. It claims to visibly reduce breakouts and fade away post-acne scars in eight hours. It also claims to speed up the process for its formula to penetrate your pores and get rid of the bacteria that causes pimples. I saw an ad for it in a magazine and I was instantly intrigued. I have suffered with post acne scars from my teenage years and have been endlessly searching for inexpensive possibilities to make them disappear. I have tried so many different products and none seem to work or will state that you have to consistently use it for at least six to eight months for results to actually take effect. Needless to say, I immediately went to the store and picked one of these up. I was somewhat surprised because It came in a relatively small tube (0.5 FL OZ), which I was expecting it to be slightly larger. I did notice on the ingredients label that this product contains salicylic acid and glycolic acid which both have been proven to reduce pimples and fade blemishes caused by acne. It also contains Witch Hazel extract which is a natural remedy that soothes the skin. I decided to wait until right before I would go to bed to apply this on (since I figured it provide ample time for the medicine to work without the hindrance of makeup. So, I applied it and went to sleep. When I woke up the next morning, I did notice a difference! My scars appeared lighter that then they had before and also, I had recently gotten a big pimple on my cheek and after using this the size of the pimple shrunk dramatically.

There are a few drawbacks though. This formula is pretty greasy feeling. It doesn’t dry up immediately after application, so I had to make sure I didn’t touch anything else on my face in fear that I might wipe it off or it would mess up any fabric. Another drawback is that it has coloring in it. I prefer to have any sort of topical medicine (especially for the face) to be as less artificial as possible so i don’t really think that Neutrogena to have to add artificial coloring to this was really necessary. The last drawback is the price. I was a bit surprised by the price when I first picked it up at the store. Luckily, when I went it happened to be on sale, but the normal price is around ten dollars, which is not really cheap if you are looking for an acne remedy that is nice on your budget.

Overall, if you don’t mind spending a little bit extra for something that really does work than go ahead and pick up one of these the next time you go to your local Target or Walmart. However, if you are like me and want to get the best out of your money and the best out of the product you buy then look for this product when it goes on sale and definitely grab one then because it’s definitely worth a shot.
